None of them is the shadow nor the mirror of the other one. These two responding to one another voices are trying to tell the story of a man who has been trying to unravel the enigma of every-day reality. They are like two glances closed in the pupil of the same eye. The sounds entwined in a simple melody and rhythm comprise the palette of mixed colours of the foreground.

The background made by guitar harmonies and subtle ornaments is the mood that is perceptible under the skin. Using the terms of visual arts to describe the music of Na Tak is highly justified since Na Tak argues that music is like visual arts. Avantpop which is understood as stylish simplicity is the music style that best suits the music of Na Tak. Nethertheless, that music is far from being sophisticated. The 1980s pop music of Mike Oldfield, Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Cocteau Twins, Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode done with style, full of beautiful harmonies and melodies, simple and aspiring is where Na Tak draw their direct inspiration.

The 1980s in music means the courage to experiment in creating songs in which all structures are equally important. That is the mode of action of Na Tak – writing songs with words inhabited by human beings. Universal problems and ideas are focused there. That music is like a rapid stream that cannot let you stand still if you are a sensitive, empathic and a thinking person. With every step you take, you can play with different music styles like electro, funk, jazz, pop, reggae,… Good entertainment is supposed to be enlightening and for this reason Na Tak wants to give the audience something stable, something important, and something moving.

Maybe a chance to empathise with others… Maybe a hypnotizing natural rhythm… The listener of Na Tak is someone who is looking for another human being and can pluck up the courage to respond to the world with their mind, soul and body. It’s someone who goes to a concert to have a good time and see themselves in the other’s eyes. This is the way Na Tak plays with music. And it’s all thanks to five madmen, their music experiences and inspirations, who shout “YES!” whenever reality turnes away from them.
