J.

J. was born in 1976 in Albany, Georgia, but grew up in the Ozarks of Missouri. By age 4 he was playing piano and singing, and by 9 he was composing his own music. His first song to garner airplay was recorded at Ozark Opry Studios when he was just 16, and at 18, he had relocated to New York City to record at Fast Forward Studios. The sessions resulted in the album, Animal, which was released on TUNEengine, INC., in 2002. The album would go on to spawn the single, "So High", and fueled by the remixes by Georgie Porgie, MYSTR E, Tony Cano, and J.

The album would go on to spawn the single, "So High", and fueled by the remixes by Georgie Porgie, MYSTR E, Tony Cano, and J., himself reached #36 on the USA Dance Radio Charts. The second single, "Without My One And Only" reached #1 on the Music Choice Dance Station with remixes by Giuseppe D, Chris "The Greek" Panaghi, and MYSTR E, and J. would continue to tour behind these singles until 2004, opening for Gioia Bruno of Expose for an extended stint, and, later, Taylor Dayne and Crystal Waters among others. "Rise & Fall" was J.'s 3rd single, and although too raunchy for mainstream play, was by far J.'s most successful single in the dance clubs, and soon J.

was a fixture on the New York Gay Club Scene, performing at Plaid, Limelight, Roxy, Crobar, and Splash. J. was rumored to be collaborating with Junior Vasquez and Giuseppe D. on the single, "Gone," and took a hiatus during which he acted in adult films with Lucas Entertainment and an unflinching documentary about Meth, "Rock Bottom." "I have always stepped right into the fire, and I did the film with no regard to my reputation.

I'd rather people open up a dialogue about this topic than be admired." J. did bit work in the film "Sex in the City 2" and a recent Chanel ad directed by Martin Scorsese before releasing "Bump of Me" on the label Continuous Cool in August of 2010.
