Cheikh Lo

Cheikh Lo is a Senegalese singer and songwriter, born in Burkina Faso. His father was a jeweller and Cheikh Lo remembers, that there were always lots of strangers in their house - Malians, Senegalese and others. Some critics point out that that's probably where Lo's openness to different cultural influences originates from. He started his career as a percussionist and, later, a drum player. Lo was always searching for new rythms and tunes to work with - that is why his music combines Senenegalese pop with Congo rhythms and Latin music with recognisable Mali tunes.
