But at the risk of leaving a blank page we will tell you instead why Chase Supreme brings promise to be not only the “next big thing” in music but the new and refreshing voice of his generation as well.
Blessed with an uncanny lyrical ability and valuable producer’s ear for music, he is able to communicate exactly what he desires through song. Making music that can appeal to rap and non-rap audiences alike, he can best be described as an alternative hip-hop artist. Fusing multi-syllabic wordplay, insightful thoughts, and melodic beats together, he generates tracks brimming with feel-good vibes, deep reflections, and catchy anthems.
Born in the Ben Hill section of southwest Atlanta, Chase Supreme spent his childhood playing sports and the drums.
During this time his family moved throughout the United States, due to his mom being a navy nurse, before finally settling in Newark, Delaware. At 16, he attended a youth spoken-word showcase in Harlem, NY that captivated him and began the process of him writing poetry. A few years later, due to poetry becoming old to him, Supreme moved on to rapping and eventually started making beats as well. However, living a life of crime at the time, he was often caught up with robberies, gun violence, drug-dealing, and gang-banging.
These activities translated into his music in that his song lyrics didn’t go much further than money, sex, and violence. During a brief stint in prison, Chase realized what his life had become. He decided that he wanted something better for himself and began to broaden his mind. He believed that he should do whatever possible to achieve personal success and contribute positively to society.
When he was released, Chase Supreme started to write lyrics that reflected his new worldview, and he was not just talking. He also began teaching classes to high school students in Atlanta on youth leadership, manhood/womanhood development, human rights, and the role hip-hop plays in society. Forming his own label, Global Elite, he pushed his music career into full gear and began working on his debut mixtape entitled “Blue Lotus”. It is sure to be a breath of fresh air for the music industry and it’s release is slated for the 3rd quarter of 2011. Look for Chase Supreme to be a major player in the rap landscape for years to come.
