Charmian Carr, born Charmian Farnon December 27, 1942, is best known for her role as Liesl, the eldest Von Trapp daughter in The Sound of Music. She has written two books, Forever Liesl and Letters to Liesl. In November 16, 1966, she appeared with Anthony Perkins in Evening Primrose a television musical, written by Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman. The CD for Evening Primrose was released in 2008 and the DVD is to be released in 2010

On December 12th, 2007, Carr made a rare television appearance as a guest on Loose Women where she shared some of her memories of making The Sound of Music with the hosts.
