Bettina Wegner (November 4, 1947 in West Berlin) is a German song-writer and poet. Her parents moved to East Berlin, thus Bettina grew up in the DDR where learned liberian and studied acting. Her political activism contrasting the DDR regime got her arrested in '68. After her jail-time she studied singing. And after some critically songs she had to decide between jail or never come back to the DDR again. In 1983 she moved to West-Berlin and worked as a songwriter.
