Basement Tape are a Bangkok-based rock band, formed in late 2008 by members of The Darlings, The Section and Stylish Nonsense. They play mixture of 60’s rock radio melodies and a liberal sprinkling of tape hiss of underground pop with lo-fi recording techniques. เบสเมนท์เทป เป็นวงดนตรีโฟล์ค-ร็อค นำโดย “ทัด บุนนาค และ เบน เอ็ดวาร์ดส์” ทั้งคู่แชร์เพลงที่แต่ละคนแต่ง และตระเวณแสดงสดในกรุงเทพฯ ตั้งแต่ช่วงปลายปี 2008 ถ้าจะบรรยายส่วนผสมในเพลงของเบสเมนท์เทป จะนึกถึงเมโลดี้ของเพลงร๊อคที่พบบนหน้าปัดม์วิทยุในยุค 60s และดนตรีป็อปอันเดอร์กราวด์จากยุค 90s และการบันทึกเสียงแบบ lo-fi Basement Tape เริ่มบันทึกเสียงเพลงเหล่านั้นด้วยวิธีการแบบ Analog Recording ด้วยเครื่องอัด 4-8 แทรค โดยไม่มีการใช้คอมพิวเตอร์หรือเครื่องจำลองเสียงเข้ามายุ่งเกี่ยวใดๆเลย ผลที่ได้ก็คือ อีพีจำนวน 7 เพลงในชื่อ Hey You!
