Ball of Flame Shoot Fire is Jess, Winston, Peter, Tim, and Pat. They met in high school, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their first full-length album, Jokeland, was released in November 2008. Their second, Pots and Knives, was released March 2011. Some of the band's main influences include Scott Walker, Nilsson, Tom Waits, Van Dyke Parks, Pavement and the Sun City Girls.
