Bako Dagnon is a Malian singer whose international album debut in 2007 was greeted with critical acclaim. Originally from the remote Malian village of N'Golobladji, she initially established herself in the group L'Ensemble Instrumental du Mali. She released several solo albums domestically before making her international album debut in 2007 with Titati on the French label Discograph in association with executive producer Ibrahima Sylla's Syllart Productions label.

Besides the involvement of Sylla, Titati was overseen by François Bréant, a musician/producer whose experience with African music includes Sekouba Bambino's Sinikan (2002), Idrissa Soumaoro's Kote (2003), and Salif Keita's Soro (1987), among other albums.
