Bad Pollyanna
Bad Pollyanna
They have been described as the most original thing to happen to rock music in the last twenty years. Fronted by creative powerhouse Olivia Hyde, Bad Pollyanna are an alternative rock band with an overtly theatrical stage show, beautiful bold image and even their own unique philosophy. Their musical influences are broad and eclectic and include pop, industrial rock and even eastern, operatic and classical genres.

How the band begun their adventure is suitably bizarre.
Olivia Hyde and bassist Nikki Kontinen uploaded rough demos on to 'MySpace' in the hopes of finding band members for their songwriting project. Within two weeks they were recording these songs at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, having been invited over by a Hollywood based music producer. Upon their return they recruited Sam Morrow and Joseph Holloway for the positions of drummer and guitarist respectively. They have since written an album's worth of music and played sell out headline shows all over the UK.
For live shows the band also use extra performers who add an extra dimension to the stage performance through dance, physical theatre and adding harmonious layers to Olivia's beautiful melodies. Performances can also include fire artistry where the venue allows. Reflected in their music, bold image, provoking stage show and oxymoronic band name is their philosophy which states that positivity, optimism, colour and fun can happily exist alongside dark theatricality, decadent sensuality and even the cathartic purging of oneself- especially through art. They encourage creative freedom and an unapologetically adventurous approach to life.
