Bad News Bats is an angular-punk noir band based out of Philadelphia, PA. Band members include, or have included: Liz McDermott (guitar, vocals), Virginia Fleming (drums, vocals), Abby Heller-Burnam (synth, vocals), Marybeth Chew (bass), and Emil Weintraub (drums). The band has performed shows only in the North Eastern portion of the US of A, The band was on hiatus. but they have reformed as a 3 piece.

They released a self-titled ep on Hot Dog City Records in September of 2006, and currently have unreleased material who's release date is yet to be determined.
