The contest was held on 4 April in Dublin, where "Y sólo tú" could only manage 14th place of the 20 entries. Bacchelli was unable to capitalise on his Eurovision appearance; he released a second album, also titled Y sólo tú, but this failed to sell and shortly thereafter he retired from the music industry.
