Awful Sparks played around 50 gigs in London between June 2005 and January 2007, before disbanding. In May 2006 the band released a split single on Leaving Home Records, featuring the track "Int'l Toughguy". Awful Sparks tracks have also appeared on compilations for Art Rocker magazine and Filthy Little Angels. Awful Sparks also enjoyed a secret prehistory, dating back to 2000, as a cider-soaked West Country lo-fi outfit. Dan and Pat Spark went on to form The Cleft Palettes, Gareth Spark recorded as Gareth Spark, Oliver Spark DJed in Hong Kong as "Perfect Pete".
