Avenger UK is the current name of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal band originally known as Avenger. The band was formed in 1982 by former Blitzkrieg members Brian Ross (vocals) and Mick Moore (bass) with drummer Gary Young. After recording their first single Too Wild to Tame, Avenger swapped vocalists with Satan, adding Ian 'Swifty' Swift to their line-up. Their first album Blood Sports is considered by some to be a classic of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
