A hardcore band from Austria. 14. A Thrash/Groove Metal band from Saint Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formed in 1993 from the ashes of Deathrider and Alliance, they released only one demo in 1994 called Angst and one full-length album in 1996 called Scratching at the Surface.

Five guys raised on brutality since childhood. Influences like Slayer, Testament, Forbidden, & Exodus are just a few points of light in an otherwise blackened universe of music. Using this style as a focal point Avalanche has sought out new ways to aggravate an already salted wound.

There Relentless riffs and political viewpoints with a groove that can't be ignored. Avalanche; the name itself invokes fear of being crushed to death. The band will do the same. 15.
