August Way

August Way are an inventive Pop/Rock band and have been fusing genres together since August 2004 as a duo which comprised of Mobius Barnaby (Vocals/Cello) and Omen Facto (Vocals/Guitar) they met whilst studying at University in Brisbane Australia. Later joined by Brendan Elliott (Bass) and Julian Porter (Drums) Their sound has quickly developed into something wholly unique and yet totally accessible, as they effortlessly create catchy rock hooks beautiful harmonies and classical, intense strains of an electric cello.

Mobius, has a strong Musical background, hailing from a large family he learnt various instruments from an early age including, Violin, Flute, Piano and Cello. Mobius is a classically trained Opera Singer.

He studied Classical music and Contemporary Jazz whilst at Brisbane University and is also the founding member of chart topping band "George". Omen, is a gifted songwriter and an articulate musician. Influences are wide and varied, ranging from Coldplay to The Beatles and Crowded House and between them the band members have a wealth of live experience that includes support for Mark Seymour and Human Nature. August Way have caused a stir around the region of New South Wales, the East Coast of Australia and different parts of the world with their energetic live shows and innovative sound after embarking on a promotional US and UK tour in October 2007 which enabled them to build on a loyal following picking up fans wherever they go! before this August Way received second place in the Australian Songwriters Association Awards for the beautifully crafted song 'Soulfire'.

2008 is the year where August Way hit the studio to concentrate on their second album, after successfully releasing their debut Album "This Is The Other World" it was featured as the the top selling album reaching No 15 in the iTunes download charts, resulting in both national and international Radio airplay. Watch this space! There have also been rumors of a second promotional tour this year too, so stay tuned!!
