Auda

There are two bands with the name Auda: 1. Auda is an English band from East Sussex which formed in the later part of 2006. The band are Vocalist and Guitarist Chris Sidery, Drummer James Barrow, Bassist Tony Mears with Mark Hampson on Guitar and Keyboards. Auda spiral through the musical ventures of Bloc Party’s pounding drum beats, Muse’s refined synth melodies and Audioslave’s killer riffs. Auda’s debut album “The Long Road Home” was conceived over a six month period in their own studio.

Out of the twenty-three tracks recorded only eleven were selected to grace the album along with a small selection of B-sides. Auda originated back in 2006 under the title Sui Generis and released their first E.P “Red Noise Day” in aid of Comic Relief. In 2007 they underwent a drastic shift in style which resulted in a hugely original and more refined sound, this forced upon them the realization that a name change was in order, and so Auda was born. Auda continued to then narrow it's sound and get a view of a rock/pop/alternative sound which has led to the music of today.

Although sporting some dancey aspects the songs all have a rock element with soaring guitars alongside astonishing lyrical ideals with well placed drumming. The band finally started to fit together when the bass guitar began to find its footing which inspired a lot of the music. Although Auda are currently in stasis, their minds are still alive prising apart cracks in the internet portal and finding ways of showing of what they've done - we hope you enjoy. 2.
