Atli Örvarsson (born 7 July 1970, Akureyri, Iceland) is a composer of music for film and television. His recent projects include the scores for the ABC series Six Degrees, the Jerry Bruckheimer television series Just Legal, and the feature films Stuart Little 3 and Vantage Point. He also contributed to Hans Zimmer's score for The Holiday, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. His score for the independent feature Strike the Tent recently won the Jury Prize at the Film Music Festival in Park City.

Born into a famous musical family in his native Iceland, Atli began his musical career at an early age, performing throughout Europe on piano and trumpet with some of Iceland's preeminent pop and jazz ensembles.

His work with the rock band Sálin Hans Jóns Míns won him three platinum and two gold albums in the 1990's. Invited to attend the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, Atli moved to the United States in 1993 to study film scoring and classical composition. Atli graduated Berklee Summa Cum Laude, and went on to receive his MA in Film Music Composition from the North Carolina School of the Arts. The winner of the prestigious Pete Carpenter Fellowship for young composers, Atli moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to participate in the program directed by TV composing legend Mike Post. Atli was soon after hired by Mr.

Post to collaborate as a composer and orchestrator for several hit TV shows, including the three Law and Order series, NYPD Blue, L.A. Dragnet. Atli currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Anna. He recently joined the ranks of Remote Control Productions where he has collaborated with Hans Zimmer and an extraordinary team of composing colleagues on films such as Nancy Meyer's The Holiday and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Atli continues to write music for the large and small screen, bringing passion and artistic comitment to each project.
