AtOmsk

There are at least two musical acts bearing the name 'Atomsk'. 1) A Dutch postrocktechno project (active 2010 - present) - spelled as 'Atomsk' 2) A French eclectic steampunk band (active from 2008 - unknown) - spelled as 'AtOmsk' 1. Atomsk is a Dutch project that fuses postrock and indiepop with progressive technobeats. Ranging from ambient soundscapes to full blown digital noise, Atomsk's mainly instrumental work tries to cover a wide range of emotions. With their lengthy tracks (taking up to 14 minutes), they aim for an hypnotic, dreamy flow.

Atomsk is a Dutch project that fuses postrock and indiepop with progressive technobeats. With their lengthy tracks (taking up to 14 minutes), they aim for an hypnotic, dreamy flow. The project began to take shape when Pim (multi-instrumentalist) presented his solo work to Nick (hobbyist producer) as an opportunity to re-edit that into a live set. The two erected a postrock band called 'Blossom Storms' in 2006 and have been making music together ever since. Now, their work paid off in the form of their home produced, 77 minute album "You Shall Not Grow Old".

For promotional purposes and as an answer to the economic issues in the contemporary music industry, it is available through a Pay What You Want system, without a minimum cost. 2) AtOmsk are a French band created in April 2008. This eclectic musical project mixes up rock, jazz, metal, funk, disco, or even folk... and way much more along with the members’ musical discoveries and crushes. AtOmsk’s world most widely rejoins a Steampunk inspired aesthetic.

Steampunk, in its broad meaning, can apply to any piece of art having an atmosphere close to a XIXth century of fantasy, characterized, among all, by some exaggerated technologies of the First Industrial Revolution: cogwheels, steam machines, zeppelins… AtOmsk made this imaginary Steampunk world theirs, either in their costumes (of neo-Victorian inspiration), or in the stagecraft (with the use of accessories and dramatization), as well as in the themes of their songs (their track Dance in the zeppelin, for instance).
