EDIT: Although there may be some artists with the name Ascendant, the soul band, ASCENDANT from Chicago, Illinois, was the first and is the only artist with the registered trademark in the US (2000). All the others are infringing on their trademark rights. At least 3 artists have this name: Ascendant is a Northamptonshire based 5 peice progressive melodic-death metal band. Over the coming months he wrote and recorded the first two Ascendant songs while looking for the remaining members to complete the band.

By February 2005, the line-up was complete with Chris on guitar, Ande on drums and Lee on bass. The following 2 years were spent writing more songs, and they gradually gigged more & more. However, as of the beginning of 2007, Ande decided to leave the band to concentrate on his own band, Aurora's Shadow and they've yet to find a replacement for him. But they have since added Jacob to the lineup on keyboards and adding to the bodom edge the band posess. A Soul group from Chicago, Illinois, and a Psytrance producer from California.

Ascendant is a psytrance producer from the San Francisco Bay Area. He is influenced by Infected Mushroom and Simon Posford, and also heavily influenced by fellow Bay Area psytrance producer and close friend Dyode. After an eclectic musical past as a trombonist, guitarist and DJ, Ascendant now focuses his musical efforts on psychedelic trance. His music tends to be upbeat and catchy, yet twisted and subtle.
