Arlo West is a guitarist singer/songwriter from the state of Maine in the U.S.A. He has recorded over 13 albums and has appeared as a guest artist on many others. He has toured with Uncle John Turner (formerly the drummer for Johnny Winter} and Bobby "Bobby T" Torello (also formerly with Johnny Winter). Touring Scandinavia for 20 years has helped develop a large following in countries like Sweden.

Arlo was born in Oquossoc, Maine in 1958.
At age 11 his family moved to Auburn, Maine where he was influenced by the many musicians living there. Guitarists such as Lenny Breau and Jeff Wright became friends with Arlo and helped him develop his style of playing. In 1985 Arlo met Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Billy suggested that Arlo "Move to Austin, Texas". After moving to Texas he was signed to Russell Whitaker's label Brighton Road Productions. This allowed him to several of his albums like 1987's "Rattlesnake" and 1994's "Blues College" Whitaker's studio the Dallas Sound Lab has produced many fine recordings and this recording contract was instrumental in exposing West's music to the world. 2007 West became friends with legendary guitarist and pickup designer Bill Lawrence.
