Antero Manninen

Year and place of birth: 1973 in Tampere, Finland Measures at birth: 45cm 2500g Hobbies: Teasing Paavo, slow food, hiking, jogging, crosscountry skiing Studies: In the year 1980 Antero started playing cello out of his own free will as a student of Lauri Voipio and he continued later on under the supervision of Pauli Heikkinen, Professor Arto Noras and Dr. Raimo Sariola. After he made his way to the soloist department of the Sibelius-Academy, he got a treatment of Hannu Kiiski. He froze his studies in spring 1995.

Antero Manninen has been functioning as a musician in a Tapiola Sinfonietta Avanti! and Finnish Radio Symphonyorchestra and once (1 time) in the orchestra of the Finnish National Opera. He is also one of the founders of Sibelius-Academy's Cellosekstet (SSS). Antero has been performing also at funerals. Task in the band: Primary task is the mental discouraging of Paavo.

Secondary task is to take care of the check-in in the airports. Third task of his is to play touchy solos, hard guitar- and drumming parts. Taste of music: Listens to almost everything, excluding machine made music and heavy-metal. Classical: Sauna and Sibelius, Wagner Light: Astor Piazzolla, J.J.
