The following info was copied from Andy's MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/andygriffiths Andy was born in Cambridge, but relocated to Leicester in his early 20s. Finally overcoming his fear of performing in public, he began playing at folk clubs in the area a few years ago, and in 2004 released his debut cd "Strawberry Girl" on the independent Oblong label. Recently Andy also made the step of forming a band to play his music, imaginatively titled the Andy Griffiths Band. They have just begun work on Andy's second album, tentatively titled "Anticlockwise".

Whilst mainly playing in the Leicester area so far Andy has already appeared at various venues in York, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Cambridge and Hitchin, and has opened for many artists including Boo Hewerdine, Clive Gregson, Darden Smith, Ashley Hutchings, Sally Barker, Vikki Clayton, Kim Richey, Bryter Layter, Nizlopi, Steve Tilston, Jez Lowe and Loscoe State Opera. With a new cd coming out in early summer, a headline gig at The Musician, the Midlands no.1 roots music venue and an appearance earmarked for the big Summer Sundae Weekender festival, it's a good time to check out Andy's music.
