Andy Fairley
Andy Fairley
Andy Fairley was a key but shadowy figure on the On U Sound scene of the 1980s and 1990s. His spoken-word think-pieces appeared on a number of recordings by the mighty Tackhead collective. His LP System Vertigo (1992) stood out as one of the most experimental of the On-U Sound collective ventures. Despite featuring all the usual studio prowess of Adrian Sherwood, Doug Wimbish and Skip McDonald, System Vertigo was for the most part a vehicle for Fairley's provocative poetics.
