Ana D is from the northern coast of Spain, near Asturias. She joined Madrid's burgeoning musical scene (associated with the acclaimed independent label Elefant Records) and recorded her debut album, Satélite 99, with Javier Corcobado and Ibon Errazkin in 1997.
