Virtue and Papa Bakes met in college and spent nearly every night of every week for over a year kicking freestyles together in parks in downtown Boston with Exquisite Corpse on beatbox, and occasionally EJ3 and various spectators. The Fameless Family began to grow out of those impromptu sessions, developing into a living, breathing beats and rhymes machine. Soon the pair began rocking live performances, which, naturally, led to collaborating on songs.

Virtue's "kickin' it cryptic " lyricism, combined with Bakes' hip-hop hype gave birth to a contrasting concept, the likes of which have never been seen.
