Almost Clancy was formed early in 2009 by Baker (formerly of Speed Limit Seven, Sex and Steel Wool, & Much More Chill) and Green (formerly of Speed Limit Seven, Sex and Steel Wool, Crimson Shift, & MU_120). They had been discussing collaborating on a new project. Newcomer Brian Lucas joined the band in February after meeting Green as members of the Ice Road Puckers Hockey team. In April of 2009 Wirth (formerly of Merv) joined the band to complete the current line up.

In April of 2009 Wirth (formerly of Merv) joined the band to complete the current line up. Wirth’s strong tenor voice and saxophone add an extra dimension of melody and harmonized vocals to the group that was impossible to achieve with the trio format.
