British mezzo-soprano Alice Coote studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Royal Northern College of Music, and the National Opera Studio. Coote is the winner of the Brigitte Fassbaender Award for Lieder Interpretation and the Decca Kathleen Ferrier Prize for her gifts as a song recitalist. Her most frequent collaborating artist in recital is Julius Drake. Coote has also achieved great success in opera, appearing at Covent Garden, the English National Opera, Opera North, the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Glyndebourne, among others.
