Ahleuchatistas
Ahleuchatistas
Ahleuchatistas are a duo from Asheville, North Carolina, with Shane Perlowin on guitar and Ryan Oslance on drums. In recent times, the music has shifted towards an evolved doom psychedelia, what the New York Times called "a sort of heatstroke minimalism", with stretched moments of sustained tension creating a hypnotic effect. There are strong currents of Chinese music, African music, western classical music, electronica, and ambient/noise in the new direction, with a punk rawness and intensity.

The album is currently out of print, but easily available online for free. "There's noise and fire in their playing, but most of these tunes are also studded with signposts, demanding close attention and clear execution."
