Afghan Headspin

Afghan Headspin were born in 2006, two members , Wrisk & Mackie from dnb trio Resonant Evil (Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware) decided to branch out and into the world of Breakbeat. Their debut single "The Calling" was picked up by Broke, starting a rollercoaster of a ride for artist and listener alike, Afghan Headspin have since gone on to release on labels like SKINT, Rocstar, Against The Grain,Hardcore Beats, Downbeat, Westway and set up their own massive imprints Valium & Standard Audio.

Taking their sound out on the road, Afghan Headspin have managed to firmly secure their name in Southern Spain as one of the leading artists in the tearout scene, known for twisting and tearing basslines and seering lead lines, no holds barred filth! Bookings are starting to come in thick and fast as word spreads, let these guys loose on a crowd and mayhem will be released. 2008 saw a slew of releases throughout the year, which culminated in an guest mix on Annie Nightingales Radio 1 show in early 2009, and a slot at the world famous Breakspoll Awards at Fabric, Glade Fesival, Pacha & Glastonbury. Work on remixes / collabs for Cut La Roc's Rocstar label, and colloborations with Shut Up & Dance, took their profile higher still. 2010, their most succesfull to date, also saw the departing of Wrisk (Colin Worth) from the line up. The sound adjusted and Afghan Headspin carried on, with Audio (Virus) getting draughted in on the buttons.

Joining the Rocstar Agency also proved a pivotal point, with demand for DJ'in getting greater by the month. 2011 has already started with a bang, with signings to SKINT, Hardcore Beats,and a "Story So Far" album scheduled for release on Rocstar. Also scheduled for release is a huge remix of Fatboy Slim & Herve's "Machines Can Do The Work"...... watch this space!
