Adam Harvey is blessed with the biggest voice in Australian country music and a personality that enables him to make the most of every situation. Driven by his commitment to keeping the music honest, the support of an industry that acknowledges his natural attributes and a massive dedicated fan base, Adam’s career has many defining moments including Gold status for his debut album Workin’ Overtime in 2002 and there’s more to come in 2005 starting with the release of his new album Can’t Settle For Less in January. In 2004, he was named CMAA Male Vocalist of the Year for the No 1 single Call It Love off the album Cowboy Dreams and received his 5th Golden Guitar. Cowboy Dreams produced a further three number ones - A Little More To It Than That, When Lonely Met Love & Love Bug. With Cowboy Dreams under his belt, Adam answered the huge demand for appearances and toured across the country with Canadian equivalent Jason McCoy. The professional and personal bond that formed during this tour was to have international repercussions for Adam. Returning to Nashville with Producer Rod McCormack in August, Adam co-wrote material for his next album with Billy Yates, Jim McBride and Jerry Sally. He polishes That’s What You Call A Friend started during a Writers Retreat in Australia with Jerry and selected tracks from this trip appear on Can’t Settle For Less. On stage for the second time at the greatest country venue on earth, Adam brings down the house at the Grand Ole Opry and revels in the old time hospitality that flows from the dressing rooms into the hallways where the ghosts of legends walk. Still in Nashville, he’s invited to meet THE major influence on his career choice, Tom T.

Hall at his residence. This introduction develops into a day of highlights and overwhelming generosity that Adam is still coming to terms with. Adam crosses the border and takes his music north to new audiences at the Canadian Country Music Association’s Country Music Week celebrations and represents his country at an International Industry Panel. He attracts huge crowds through his powerful stage presence at the Edmonton Country Music Festival and on the following key cities tour with Jason McCoy in support of the Canadian release of Workin’ Overtime, Adam’s first international release. Audiences identify with his brand of Australian country music and legions of new fans are left behind. On the road, Adam and Jason co-write a duet to be featured on Jason’s forthcoming album and internationally released at the Calgary Stampede 2005. At the CCMA Awards, Adam sees his mate Jason McCoy take out the Canadian Male Vocalist of the Year for the second time and the following day, releases Workin’ Overtime through Canadian record company Open Road Recordings. Adam’s confidence in his own music has grown.

He can attract an international audience and he knows that his music translates to the Northern Hemisphere. This validates his commitment to return to Canada and says: “This trip proved to me that we should appreciate how far we’ve come. Our home-grown material has integrity, relevance and universal appeal and I came home believing that we are equal to anyone else on the international stage.” Back home, Adam heads straight to the studio and records 4 self-penned heartbreakers along with songs by his lifelong influences Tom T. Hall, Don Williams and John Conlee.

The finished product, Can’t Settle For Less contains 13 tracks all perfectly balanced with his powerful voice and personality, including the skewed observations. And as an absolute gift to his dedicated fans, Adam has also produced independently a bonus Limited Edition DVD to accompany the first run of the album. This one is a collector’s item and contains every music clip from the first Gypsy Queen filmed in the late 1990’s to the most recent, That’s What You Call A Friend along with a running commentary by Adam. Can’t Settle For Less will be launched at the Tamworth Country Music Festival on Friday 14th January and in stores from Monday 17th January. To coincide with the album launch, the first single and ultimate party song God Made Beer (with a chorus by the Beerholders), will be released to radio. In February, Adam hits the road with the legendary Willie Nelson on most of his Australian tour dates and says “I can’t wait! I feel like I’m supporting the Pope! This has to be the greatest gig in the world.” Given Adam’s success at home, one of his goals in 2005 is to add to his international profile and the opportunity is there in June when he returns to Canada for performances at major outdoor festivals including The Calgary Stampede & Big Valley Jamboree. Adam will be embarking on the “Can’t Settle For Less” 100 date Trek; that will see him reach his fans both across Australia and internationally during 2005. What’s already been a remarkable career to date is only set to become even greater.
