Beside his solo act, he also developed as a composer for the stage in the late 90's, first for theatre, then more significantly, for dance: Régine Chopinot for 'W.h.a.' (2003), Gang Peng for his hip-hop contemporary ballet 'Sur le Fil' (2007) and with Japanese choreographer Jo Kanamori and his company Noism. This encounter gave way to a fruitful artistic collaboration: 'NINA - materialize sacrifice' (2005), which toured in major cities around the globe, 'PLAY 2 PLAY' (2007), and 'Les Contes d'Hoffmann' [The Tales of Hoffmann] (2010).
Now based in Taipei, Aaken has recently been writing with choreographer Huang-yi on 'Second Skin' and 'Symphony Project' (2010), with fashion designer Johan Ku for 'The Hole' (2011) a conceptual short which was directed by Tsai Ming-Liang, and Jay Chern for his award winning short film 'Thief' (2011). 2012 projects:
'Just' with Sheu FangYi
'Double Yellow Line' with Huang Yi, (two dance pieces which will be premiered at the National Theatre in Autumn)
'Rowboat' a short film by CJ Wang,
'Pierre est heureux', a film by Bryan Kuo
a duet album with Bévinda entitled 'Fukaeri'. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License and may also be available under the GNU FDL..
