AREA 52

Area 52 is formed from the ashes of two bands from Gibraltar Melon Diesel & Reach. Melon Diesel signed to Sony Records Spain,(now Sony BMG Spain) becoming one of the top rock bands in the Spanish Music scene. They supported acts such as R.e.m, Manic Street Preachers, Oasis, Courtney Love's band Hole, Placebo and many more. Their estimated sales surpassed 200,000 copies. Extracted from their first album in 2001 they reached the top spot in the Spanish charts with the song "Quiero un camino"(Find a way).

Extracted from their first album in 2001 they reached the top spot in the Spanish charts with the song "Quiero un camino"(Find a way).With album No. 2 they had 3 top 20 hits and with their last album in 2003, they had 2 top 10 hits. Reach on the other hand was signed to RCA Records Spain and released an album which they toured extensively throughout Spain supporting major Spanish acts. Area 52 is a three piece alternative rock band, comprised of Stephen Mclaren: Vocals & Guitar, Guy Palmer: Bass & Vocals, Adrian Pozo: Drums. Their sound can be described as fresh, energized in your face rock, with a rhythm section which is original, unpredictable and steady as clockwork, couple this with direct meaningful and compromising lyrics, clever melodies and guitar work and you come up with the secret to the Area 52 sound. Area 52 have now recorded there 1st album with producer Danilo Ballo in Turin Italy and are in the process of negotiating a record deal.
