A Julius Orange
A Julius Orange
Haunting vocals plead in the night, intricate guitars weave a tapestry of sound, tribal drums beat the quickening pulse, and melodic bass lines root it in the Earth. Of Leverage or Magnetism - the debut effort from Fly Creek, New York’s neo-grunge trio, A Julius Orange. Pining for love and longing for hope, Of Leverage or Magnetism runs the spiritual gamut. It's a meditation on innocent joy, quiet introspection, and the downward spiral of despair.

This Upstate New York trio leaves no stone unturned in their feverish pursuit to create dynamic, moving, and emotionally stimulating songs. They've put a fresh and modern, yet psychedelic spin on the grunge anthems they grew up with. Lieber forged his distinctive style in his college band, Lugubrious. After graduation, he returned home to recruit long time pal Wilhelm and veteran drummer Palmer, both of whom studied jazz. After a few experimental sessions in the dead of winter, 2007, the rhythm section quickly came together to form a propulsive, organic platform to support Lieber's web of sinewy riffs. Lieber’s lyrics read like an autobiography of heartbreak and solitude, penned by a wandering soul seeking redemption.
Although brutally personal, the message is universal, accessible to anyone with a beating heart and open ears. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License and may also be available under the GNU FDL..
