A Beast was formed in september 2005 and originally started out as a trio, with Bjarte Øvregård (Vocals/guitar), Alen Coralic (bass) and Daniel Klepp (drums), and was later supplemented with Christian Myhre (guitar).
The band had a "less is more" philosophy, striving to make simple music out by making small pieces fit together in a magnificent whole. The band started recording their debut in 2006, but soon split ut, as the project "fell between chairs" as the members of the band had other obligations in life and in music.

Bjarte went on to work with Chasm, and Daniel Klepp has been playing with Afterbirth since 2004.
